JASON NEWSTED On METALLICA's ROCK HALL Induction: 'The Black Album Band Will Be Back Together'

Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted has confirmed to RollingStone.com that he's going to perform with the band at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and the man who replaced him, bassist Robert Trujillo. "The 'black album' band will be back together and mow the shit down," he is quoted as saying. Newsted says former bassist Ron McGovney will also be on hand for the honors, as will Ray Burton, the father of the man Newsted replaced, the late Cliff Burton.

"There's three bass players getting inducted, and James, Lars and Kirk," he tells RollingStone.com. Former guitarist Dave Mustaine, who now fronts MEGADETH, will not be inducted, however. "It's not my decision," Jason says. "I have nothing to do with that. It was decided by the band, and I think it was just a hard-and-fast rule… anyone who has recorded on any METALLICA recordings that have been released to the public as an official release were invited to the induction. So, that's kind of that."

According to Newsted, it was Ulrich who made the "very recent" call, inviting him to Cleveland for the induction. "I talked to Lars, and it's all good," Newsted says. "I was happy to hear from him. Megadeth New Album - 11 songs and 1 Instrumental

The new Megadeth album is almost complete and it looks like we are looking at a possible September release. Dave posted on the Megadeth Official Forums that the new album well contain 12 songs total, one of which is going to be a instrumental. Here is the post from Dave....

The weekend is upon us!
Droogies,
Today is the first weekend that I have been home since the tour ended, and I have a lot of work to do around my house. Shoot! Between the animals and the kids, we have a real sizable list of things to replace. Hell, just the lightbulbs alone will be a forearm workout. I just have to remember to do half the bulb replacements standing on my head so I can get even reps.

As many of you no doubt have seen on our home page, the Scars to Freedom event is cancelled. I am disappointed about this because I really thought this would be something even more off the beaten path than the Affliction Banned MMA event. It turned out to be unfortunately more like "Spinal Tarp" at the Air Force Base.

I am now back focusing on the remaining lyrics for this new record. We have 11 songs for the states and a bonus song for Japan, and we are almost done picking the 12 faithful soldiers to go on this new record. There are 11 tracks with vocals and one instrumental, and I have six more lyrics to go, which I am more than confident will come easily.

I have a meeting with Megadeth's manager today, and it should be interesting because of the nature of two of the many topics and the people involved. You see we have some more opportunities to play this summer, and to make some appearances, and I am not sure that this is what we want.

Help, my wife's handcuffed me to the bed....

A FRANTIC husband called police after his estranged wife handcuffed herself to him and bit him in a bizarre confrontation captured on a 911 tape.

"My wife has handcuffed me - she's attacking me," Robert Drawbough moaned to an emergency dispatcher. "Please come and help me get out of here."

Drawbough complained to police that he woke up to find his wife had snapped the 'cuffs on both of them to stop him from escaping.

He told the puzzled dispatcher he couldn't keep Helen Sun, 37, away from him - and screamed in high-pitched agony when she dug her chompers into his flesh.

"Owwwww! Oh God. She's biting my arm," Drawbough exclaimed on the 911 tape. "I'm using every hand to keep her away from me. I need help."

Drawbough said Sun lost it because he dumped her and she wanted to patch up their marriage.

"I divorced her, tried to leave her," he said. "Please send police."

Sun was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful restraint. Drawbough was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.

The domestic drama unfolded after Drawbough came from Los Angeles, where he lives, to visit his estranged wife.

In hopes of having a long chat with her ex, Sun changed the locks on their master bedroom so Drawbough couldn't get out.

He dozed off and awoke Monday to find she had put the restraints on them. Things went downhill from there as Drawbough called 911 on his cell phone.

Cops had to break down the front door to get into the home and unlocked the handcuffs to free Drawbough.
